Creative Project Manager
Darkroom, a rapidly growing creative agency, is seeking a Creative-focused Project Manager to join its operations team and be a force for change and order. As a project manager for a multi-disciplined creative agency, your role will be crucial to the onboarding, implementation, and success of our client’s initiatives. From the time of the handoff from the sales team until the post-service launch you’ll be crucial in the management of multiple projects to keep our teams running like a well-oiled machine.
From advertising and social media campaigns to branding, design, and website launches, and even photoshoots, it’s the role of the creative project manager to bring order to chaos with all of our projects. This means that they need to be able to meet several responsibilities and requirements listed below.
This role can be based either in Los Angeles or Remote.
What you’ll do:
Planning & Organization: Understanding the overall project timelines and commitments and how these fit into each service we offer. Many clients engage Darkroom for work that requires touching multiple departments and clean transitions of tasks. This role is crucial to ensure the timelines are properly planned and executed.
External & Internal Communication: Acting as a liaison between our clients and internal stakeholders, as well as streamlining communication and ensure the right messages end up in the correct hands. Ensure that we establish expectations, frequency of project updates, and correct handoff of work and deliverables.
Project Progress: Monitoring project timelines in our project management tool, workloads across departments, cross-functional teams, and objectives to ensure we’re meeting our promises to clients.
Capacity Planning: Ensuring we are selling into our team’s capacity and not overcapacity on what we can support. Ensure new projects fit within our timelines.
Mitigating Scope Creep: Ensuring scope is properly set at the beginning of each project and our clients understand what is and is not covered by our Statements of Work for each service. Keeping clients in the loop about what is and is not covered with our service or management fees.
Future Planning: Once projects are complete and they are in the hands of our account management and service teams, ensure that if additional projects are needed they are rescoped and passed through our project timeline process.
What you’ll need to be successful:
3 - 5 years of experience in a project management/marketing role in an advertising agency, design firm, in-house design/video services department, or related marketing environment
Experience in managing projects with the following services: Branding, Digital Products & Website Development, Photo & Video Production, and Growth Marketing/Advertising.
The ability to manage multiple, large projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing, deadline-driven environment.
You have created, designed, implemented processes before, then collected feedback and iterated on them.
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
Advanced knowledge of project management tools, we use ClickUp.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Advanced time tracking and management skills.
